Help needed!!!!

We do a backup to disk (Mon - Fri Full backup)
The location of the backup is to a folder on a different server.

Within this folder as well as the notmal Monday - Friday folders we have Month1 - Month12 folders and there is also a set of folders which we never set up called Primary1 through to Primary30.

We are running out of space on this drive and would be greatful if anyone can advise on the best way to clean up the files on the drive - the backup job was not set up by me and i have never used this type of backup method before.

The backup to disk is via a FSD File System Device, which sets up a directory as a tape. So each FSD is treated just like a tape. As such if the job is a Rotation or GFS job it should start overwriting these virtual tapes, and so the amount of data should peak out and be stable except for an increase in the amount of data.

Figuring you are just running out of space the options are rather limited. You can reduce the number of copies, go to daily differential or incremental, or move to a larger volume.
