I have installed the B.O. client to a new PC (window 2000, service pack 2).

I find that it is vey unstable. The B.O. client is halt frequently.

My another PC (window 2000, service pack) do not has this problem. Why?

Hello leeck,

Perhaps it has nothing to do with your problem, but there is an executable , especially for a windows2000 installation you have to run prior to doing the client install. I believe it is in a special W2000 map on the CD.
I deals with security issue when working under W2000 (windows security in this case....) T. Blom

To be more specific:

The executable is called:

AllowBO51-26-W2000.exe

There is a separate textfile windows2000.txt that gives more information on procedings.......... T. Blom

the windows 2k patch is for installing the client without admin rights on the machine, this doesn't seem to be the issue here.

what will make the client unstable is too little memory and/or too little bandwidth. the client on its own is known to force a large number of application turns, especially with oracle. when the data pipe is failing the client will appear unstable and can halt.

The version matters as well. 5.0.4 isn't considered very stable, nor is 5.1.1.
