I am using awstats for multiple domains with an update running every day. There was a problem on a specific day with the logs(some of them went missing) and for some reason the data from the update was written to the previous month's history file. Now when I try to re-process the logs they all come up as old records, even if I DELETE the history for the current month. any one have any ideas...please help as this is a major problem!

Thanks

dluvsu,

I'd be thinking the datestamp of each line in the log would be the problem here

Could someone have reset the date/time of the server to cause the problem? Had any unhappy travellers through your woods l8ly?

I think you're right, I tested it by putting an old timestamp(feb) into the logs for 11 march and then running an awstats update. Update runs fine but shows 1 corrupted record. Apparently this corrupted record(being the one with the feb timestamp) causes awstats to write to feb history file - but does not give an error! The result is that no logs before the 11 march can be processed because awstats now sees them as old logs, even if I remove the march history file(which is the method for reseting stats suggested by awstats FAQ) I can obviously remove feb history file as well and then redo stats for feb and march but this would hit the server hard and take forever. Also I can not afford do do that everytime this happens(as I am sure it will happen again). Any ideas on how to prevent this?

Thanks
D
