Can you take the AVG of a Date column

Try it and report back. It seems this would take much less time to test/try than to post a message and wait for a reply.

I did try it, and it returned nothing. I was curious if the reason why it returned nothing was because it wasn't possible or I'm asking it to do the wrong thing

I did try it
Try WHAT ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

What were you expecting?

For example, please tell me the average of these three dates:

1/1/1900
2/24/2003
9/24/2006

the average is 25554

Converted to date this is 12/17/1969

Doesn't exactly mean much does it?

If this is really what you want, try this:

CDate(Avg(MyDateCol)) as MyAvgDate

If you have a date stored in a text column I doubt it will work, but CDate(Avg(CDate(MyDateCol))) might...

Good Luck,

Alex

With all due respect, Don Bot, I don't think we should rely on an accident happening. Let's kill him ourselves.

What are you trying to accomplish?

Please state the Business Case for this requirement.
