I having trouble setting up an Avaya wireless MDW pocket phone. I'm trying to use it with a 6424D+M phone. I cannot get dial tone in the wireless phone unless I press the outside line button on the regular phone. The 'headset' button is activated on the 6424. I should be able to get dialtone if I press the 'talk' button on the wireless phone.

never tried hooking one up to the actual phone. Maybe I'm confused on models, but
You can hook the wireless phone up directly to the phone switch (it's own port) then bridge the call apperances between you 6424 and you wireless phone. That will give you the call answer capablitity of the 6424 extension on the cordless.
