Is there anyone who is has implemented this product? If so, how are you using it?

I set it up at a few customer sites before, and I've gotten positive feedback mostly. One nice feature it allows is a custom directory (stored on the PC) that you can program cell phone numbers, home numbers, other office numbers, etc and easily transfer callers using these entries. The interface is similar to a 302 console with click and customize enhancements. The drawback is that if your customers reception PC is not a very reliable one, then the "receptionist phone" won't be either, so keep that in mind when deploying this application. Make sure you put that PC on a UPS as well. You will need a data module for this product. I like to use an 8411D phone with the built in data module. The receptionist can dial the phone manually or via the PC.

I've actually implemented the product with the Callmaster 6 and find that it works great. It takes up less space than the 8411's we had, plus you can record an announcement(such as the company greeting) to the Callmaster, this way the operator doesn't have to say "Thank you for calling.." all day. Really neat!

Randyb19,

Have you installed without using the callmaster? We are looking at the possibility of implementing for our switchboard backup operators. I would like to load the SoftConsole software on the computer of each backup person and use their existing 6408D+ sets as overflow consoles. Our Prologix is IP-enabled Multivantage r11. Do you know if that software is sold as right to use or can you buy a single copy and distribute? I have gotten some conflicting answers from different people regarding licensing.

When I purchased SoftConsole, it was a per user license, so I had to purchase five copies.

I do have two people using their 6408's as backups. We just have them log into the operator skill to take calls. They mainly use SoftConsole for the data.
