Hi All,

I am new to Avaya. Our company inherited the avaya VOIP system from our sister company after they moved out. I stumble my way through setting the avaya site administration with voice system to add extension (ip and port) but I don't know what I need to do to setup voice mail. I tried setup for messaging system but no go. I used the same different ip and different port number but it seems, i can't connect.

Can someone point me to the right direction?

Thank you in advance!

Henry

What voice mail system do you have?

What system do you have - legacy equipment such as prologix and SI cabinets or do you have the newer equipment such as S8300, S8500 S8700 etc etc....

Is your vmail on an external server/PC or is it using the built in CMM (Communication Manager Messaging)that comes with the CM software??

Once we know what type of voicemail you have we can help in getting the connection set up.

I hope this helps
I have one box that has both phone sys + the Voice mail

G700 + IA 770 Intuity Audix Messaging

voice messaging access with ASA for IA770 is determined by the login that you use.
Logins "sa" and "vm" both access the IA770

test login and password from linux bash prompt:
ssh sa@$HOSTNAME
ssh vm@$HOSTNAME
ssh vexvm@$HOSTNAME
ssh sa@192.11.13.6
ssh vm@192.11.13.6
ssh vexvm@192.11.13.6
ssh sa@network_ip_address
ssh vm@network_ip_address
ssh vexvm@network_ip_address

IA770 can also be accessed via the web browser

Really...

Problem is I was only given a username (cust). I do not have sa, vm, vexvm password. Is there default one that i can try or is that way to reset it?

Thanks,

Avaya can reset the password(s) for you - for a modest fee.

Thanks all!

I recall talking to some Avaya Rep (authorized dealer) and if I am not mistaken, I thought he has told me that sa or craft password is not given to the customer. I will double check with them.

Thanks

they will not give you craft

If they will not give you "sa" then they should give you "vm". You will need one of them for IA770 admin.

If you have the "sa" logon ID reset, you should be able to reset the "vm" password yourself. At least that's the way it works on my Intuity Audix.

Thanks everyone!

Looks like I have to contact Avaya and get it reset.
