Hey everyone,

I am trying to setup a couple different new computers with ASA, but hate to manually type in our 15 sites for each PC. Is there a registry setting, or .ini file that houses this information that I can copy to the other machines?

ASA 5.0.11

Thanks!

The file name is 'persist.dat'. On newer versions of ASA it lives in the C:\Documents and Settings\[userid]\Application Data\Avaya\Site Administration\User folder.

When I open that file up in notepad or wordpad, its a bunch of encrypted letters and numbers. It doesn't look like it'd be easy to modify and/or copy to other machines.

You can't really edit it in Note/WordPad - Make sure ASA is closed on the new PC, put it in the directory 4merAvaya mentioned on the new PC that needs to have all the sites, and then open ASA... It should populate correctly.

To modify it you need to modify the settings within ASA, and then from the File Menu - Save Configuration, and then it will be updated. Then copy that persist file to your other PC's to keep them updated.

Thanks,
CJH

Got it! Will give it a try.

Thanks for the help!

What are the correct settings for ASA to access a switch? I tried obtaining the 'persist.dat' but the PC taht was being used was using ASA version 1.x and did not contain the info.
