We've had a 3rd party CDR collector integrated for quite some time. Simple integration to CM using IP-Services and a remote port #. I know this is probably a multi-step setup, but for SIP registered endpoints.. both internal to SM and via SBC, what is the steps to get that call data passing through?

as long as you have separate trunks for OPTIM/SIP phones and for PSTN, then you'd just use CDR on the PSTN trunks. If you want station to station CDR, then that's through intra-switch CDR which would capture H323 to H323 or SIP to SIP calls - calls that use a trunk or don't. Once you get into the SM stuff, the CDR needs to know the difference between SIP stations using trunks for internal calls and trunks used for PSTN calls and it'd probably be a pain

All my trunking still goes out via CM / PSTN. I have a remote SIP endpoint I tried to run a call report on and it spit out nothing and this is a high call volume user.
