Howdy,

Running CM 5.2

I have an Avaya Polycom 1692 that has recently been stuck in discovery mode.
When I initially tried to reset it, it asked me to enter the extension and password after boot up.
Once I did that, it went back into discovery mode.

I've tried checking the values in the reset options, but they all appear to be correct.
The only thing is, the IP address keeps appearing as 0.0.0.0 in the reset mode.

Also,
When I power cycle it, I notice that it hits a "couldn not contact boot server. Using existing config"

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks!

It sounds like the Polycom is not configured or the PBX is unreachable from wherever on the network the phone is.

Can you statically enter the phone server address and IP config and see if it's pingable on the network?

Do you see if using DHCP to get addressing? I would reset the settings. If anyone mistakenly modified any of the DHCP settings it does not use DHCP.

The polycom has been programmed and "should have" never been touched as I am the only tech onsite.

That being said,
I pulled the device and plugged it in down at my desk so that it would be in a proper working controlled environment.
Still having the issue.

I entered in an IP address of one of my phones that works, and nothing.

And yes, it is using DHCP to get the address.

Is there a way to factory reset the device, or blow out the settings?

Most current release of software for the 1692 is 1.4.4 (November 2015).

Thanks @jo23938

When I press the mute button (the button with the microphone with a slash through it) and then 25327, nothing happens.

I tried pressing pound to enter in the reset mode, where it then prompts me to enter the PROCPSWD.
I tried pressing mute then 25327, but nothing.

I also tried just entering in 25327 at the PROCPSWD, and again, nothing.

In your firmware directory there should be a file called 00000000.cfg that is part of the 1692 firmware download.
Copy it and rename it with the MAC address of the 1692 in question. (EG: 0004E2E4E407.cfg)
Then reboot the phone.

@gwebster - looks like my device is running version 1692_0144

@Speewah - I went into UTILITY SERVER, and did not find the file you specified, nor did I see a file for a 1692. Also, there was no way for me to edit anyone of those files.
Should I be looking somewhere else for that?

You'll need to SSH to your utility server and do it from the shell.
