Hello all. I thought I would post this here and see what type of response I get.

Current config:

Cisco Call Manager V.5x SIP Trunk >Cisco CUPS server (proxy only)>Avaya PBX

Call from Cisco Call Manager via sip trunk work fine. Calls from Avaya to Call Manager ring the cisco phones and the call appears to be connected but drops after 20 seconds.

According to the sip messages (from CCM side) Avaya sends SDP info in the invite (early offer) and Call Manager responds with a Trying message and then Ringing followed by an OK message with the SDP info. Avaya never returns an ACK message so Call Manager keeps sending the OK with SDP info until my timers run out.

Any have ideas?

Hi DefinityG3R,

I have noticed the same problem during testing SIP trunkng between avaya CM and Patton gateways. The strange thing is that avaya sends ACK from port 0 to 5060 and protocol is UDP! Try to capture MST trace for your SIP trunk on avaya CM and you will see. I don't know is it a bug or 'feature' (dear customer buy our SES), because this is happened on all new versions of CM (4.0.4 - 5.1.2).
I'll open a case and see what will avaya say about this.
