Having trouble with audio failing on One-X. First access works fine but successive attempts give no audio at all. Can place a call, but cannot hear a thing on either end. Thoughts?

I have noticed that I have to turn up the Mic volume all the way up to be heard. Have you tried adjusting the volume?

Yes - volume is up. What is happening is - first time I use it, it works great. Hang up from the call, then attempt to start another call-no sound but call goes through...again, no audio on either end of the call.

I found this when I was mucking around a while back:

Document Id: KB01076758
Last Modified Date: 05-30-2009
Support Goal(s): One X Communicator
Access Level: External Entitled

Version-Release

One-X Communicator 1.0 with or without SP1 and SP2
Details

One-X Communicator load 1.0.0.77 (and loads before 1.0.0.87)
Description (Problem Clarification)

One-way talkpath reported by One-X Communicator users intermittently as caller can be heard by 1XC user, but user cannot be heard by caller. Happening with internal (shuffled/direct ip-ip) calls as well.
Cause

Software problem with the One-X Communicator and audio drivers used to talk with Microsoft Windows audio subcomponents

Fingerprints from logs:

[05/06/2009 13:30:15:080] WaveIn::Read: waveInAddBuffer failed with 0x21, ErrorCount = 0[06-05-2009 13:30:15:721] Transmit Audio Stats : Packet Rate outside expected Range: Validation Value: 0,42 Packet Rate: 14 Packet Size 30
[05/06/2009 13:30:44:924] CJitterBuffer::WriteBuffers: Playback buffer growing too much seq=18918 catchup packets=1

After this the One-X Communicator sends a sreeching noise then silence in the RTP stream, also the standard packetization interval (configured on the ip-network-region->ip-codec-set form 20-30mseconds) breaks up and becomes irregular, RTP packets will be sent in 270-1500 mseconds.

Problem Fix/Workaround/Solution

Workaround: put call on hold and unhold the call to force One-X Communicator to re-establish audio paths

Solution: Upgrade One-X Communicator to service pack 3 version (1.0.0.90).

Resolution Plan

Upgrade One-X Communicator to service pack 3 version (1.0.0.90).
------------------

I still have one-way audio problems even with the 6.x version of one-x communicator.

When we attempt to install vsn 5.2 or 6.0, we are getting this error:

Microsoft Visual C++
Requirement Error

This comes up after we install it. We click ok - says installation ended prematurely because of an error. It appears the C++ installs, but when we continue with the One-X installation, it hoses up and does not complete. Thoughts? Help? We are running 32bit.

I have the same issue. But if I uninstall all installed versions of C++ 2005 redistributable and install the version that comes with the communicator package, then it will recognize it and install successfully.

This is a "known" issue. You must install the matching version of C++2005 redistributable. Unfortunately the error doesn't provide the version requirements. I believe you will find this in the release notes and installation guide.
