I cancelled my Avaya Maintenance a couple of years back and have mainteance via a local vendor (Avaya Business Parnter)for major support, but esentially my dept does all MAC work and maintenance on our Switch -
luckily, when I cancelled my Avaya Maintenance, I never lost my maintenance permissions. HOWEVER, I have run into a bit of a problem now with an impending upgrade to the S8500) as with this upgrade, my business partner vendor believes that I will lose all maintenance permissions (busy out/rel etc) unless I sign on with an Avaya maintenance contract.
Does anyone else have a read on how this works - or getting around it. My take is that Avaya has opened up the market for Business Partners to service their customers to ensure satisfaction, however they are taking away permissions with that???
Does this all sound right??
