Avaya maintenance or third party (partner)

We are weighing coverage renewal on our G3Rcsi. Our contract is due to be renewed at the end of this month (December 29, 2004). We have proposals for coverage from Avaya direct ($2000/mo approx.) and a third party Avaya partner for (($2000 - 41%)= 1180/mo). The difference in price is based on the fact that we would not be covered by Avaya but by a local telco support company which is a partner. I would like to hear about pros and cons that others have had going off Avaya maintenance and have/are using third party. Also if anyone has any references for sold third party Avaya service companies in Utah I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks!
