The link shared in the above-referenced thread is no longer active, but my Googling of that domain yielded the result below. If you have experience bridging these two systems within the past three years, would you let me what, if any, of the information below is outdated/incorrect? The post I found is over four years old.

Local area code <i chose 990 since the Avaya is in europe and I do not need to dial out of it YET>
trunk services : i unchecked EVERYTHING except for Called ID not blocked by default. For now we simply want site to site calls between the two systems.
Trunk Digit Manipulation, unchecked all
Local prefixes - none
prepend dial out - none
off system extensions - here i created extensions that were in line with the other site. i.e. 7600 -7699 (the other site uses 3 digit extensions 600-699)
Translation table - I created a translation table to take 76 and convert it to 6

Individual Trunks--------------------------

I created 5 trunks and pointed it to the IP of the remote Avaya system

Gave it new Line number such as 17

ITSP IP Address i put in the IP of the shoretel switch setup for 5 sip resources

For example our HQ site uses extension 1xxx i.e. 1752 1895 etc....
I created a short code 1XXX

Line group ID 17

I creatd another short code to allow the Avaya phones in the European locatiom to dial out through the ShoreTel.
81XXXXXXXXXX 8 is our access code for the shoretel in the states
