Avaya IPO SE R10.0.0.1 (Build 53) - R630 Primary, (2) 500v2 Expansions, but all at the same location

A customer was having issues with one mailbox after then moved the user from the primary server to an expansion server digital extension (voicemail passcode would not register). Through the port 7071 via a browser we stopped and started the Voicemail service. On the web browser it shows the Voicemail service as Started with a green light, but voicemail does not kick in for extensions voicemails or autoattendants. In system status the voicemail shows as "none." Have tried stoppping, waiting, and started the Voicemail service via port 7071 via web browser and same thing...

Next step was going to restart IP Office only on Primary server using Manager before trying rebooting the Dell R630 Primary (Linux) server. Any suggestions, similar situations or things to watch out for?

Thanks

FYI - Figured out our own solution after many reboots not fixing the problem. Somehow the VM Pro password in VM PRO and in Manager Security Settings were off. Ran for 350 days without an issue until the service was restarted. Just wanted to let others know in case they run into a similar issue.

i have the same issue , but i didnt know how to change the password in VM Pro , i lost the password of the VM PRO

Hi MisterRobot. It sounds like you may have took care of this already, but wasn't sure if that was a question.

Go to manager >> security settings >> unsecured interfaces >> set password for voicemail pro (on Primary Server)

Go to vm pro >> general >> preferences >> enter the same password

That worked for me.

Some of the current releases have issues with wrong file owner of the Voicemail settings file. What Version do you use?

Derfloh - Are you asking what version/release of IPO? Avaya IPO SE R10.0.0.1 (Build 53)

I am not sure about the voicemail setting file.

ls -lah /etc/ | grep vmpro
will show you several Voicemail files.

The file owner and group have to be 'vmpro' in some releases the vmpro_settings.ini is owned by root. Also the vmpro_user_variables.ini is either missing or has also the wrong file owner.
VMPro is then not able to write settings like the password into the file and lose that settings.

Ahh! Interesting. I will check, but great information.
