I replaced a AT&T merlin legend 410 phone system with an Avaya Ip Office 500 V2. I it had a overhead paging using a optimus MPA-40 20 watt paging amp to power the speakers. It was connected to the Paging amp throuh the mic port and converted to cat5 cable to the merlin paging port. I know how to program the avaya IP office to use the line port or ext port on the ATM card to be used as paging, but was wondering if I connect it the same way (paging amp mic port to the avaya line port) will it work or will I have to get other equipment to make this work.

You could program an analog port to be a page port, get a Bogan WMT1A isolation transformer, it has a jumper to change from line or mic level output.

if you still use a line port like on the Magix it works the same way without any additional stuff.
If you switch over to a extension paging port then it depends on the input. low impedance input will work without the WMT1A that budbyrd mentioned but if the input is a high impedance input then you will need the part.

I will try using the Bogan WMT1A transformer and see if that will work. Thanks for the responses.
