Hello,

I referenced this forum for a long time and it has been a great resource. Now I need some help. We are getting ready to retire our 13 year old Avaya definity system. It will be replaced with a new Cisco system. We are running call CM 4.0 and Cisco will be call manager 11.5. I am trying to setup a H.323 link between the systems because we are not licensed for SIP. I have got everything configured following an older Avaya doc I found. Link At this time we can make calls from Avaya to Cisco and it works fine, but cannot call from Cisco to Avaya. When I try i get a few seconds of silence and then a fast busy. Debug logs on the Cisco show the packets leaving the going to the assigned Clan on the Avaya system. If monitor the configured Avaya trunk I see no activity at all. I ran a packet capture on the port and I can see the Cisco request a h.225 connection but it is never established. I have attached my trunk and signaling group config. I appreciate any help and input anyone can provide. Thanks

then you need to reach out to the cisco forum then as it sounds like an issue on the cisco

got a packet capture from either side? Does CM respond to the request? Presumably it does otherwise CUCM wouldn't see the trunk in service. Maybe there's some COR or permissions thing. It's good to know your COR is 1, but we don't know what COR 1 means on your system. Normally it's restricted because it's the default COR for anything you add. Maybe make it the same as other trunk CORs and see what happens?

How much capacity do you need? You could use a media gateway (e.g. AudioCodes) between the two.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up scrapping everything I had and starting over and it works now. I did some packet captures and at first I had did have a codec issue but that was easy to fix. So far everything is playing nice together!
