How do I get a listing of available TN's in our phone system? We are using a Merdian CS1000 version 7.5. We do our revisions through a program called RSI. I know from doing ld 22 and then slt that we have 2 IP licenses not being used. However, I am not seeing any virtual TN's available in our RSI software. I think the software is simply not updating the listing properly, so if I can get a list of available virtual TNs, I can manually select those TNs when creating a new DN.

Thanks!

Log into the TTY and go to LD 20

>LD 20

REQ LUVU
TYPE TNB
hit return until it starts printing out a list of TNs.

You could also take a look at the Super Loops that are configured, what they are for and if needed add more, etc.

LD 97
REQ prt
TYPE SUPL

The previous post is not to give you a list of available TN's BTW that is as GHTROUT said, it just gives you more of an idea how your PABX is laid out

Thank you! I was able to generate a listing. So, if I have a listing that says:

TYPE 2000 TN 44 1 13 14 8D VCE

Does that mean that TN is available to assign as a IP phone TN? I am seeing a lot of TN's in this listing after issuing the LUVU listing. The license information says I only have two IP licenses that are unused. I just want to make sure the above is one that I could use for a IP license.

When I did a tnb on 44 1 13 14, nothing shows up for it, so it looks like it is available.

Yes that is an available TN. If something was built on it, you'd get a SCH error.

Thanks! I will try building it with one of the available TN's. Appreciate the feedback!

If you are trying to build an IP Phone, you will not be able to use that TN - its for a digital set.

How can I get a listing of virtual TNs? I picked out one from the list and yes it is listed as a digital line. Is there another command I should use to get a listing of virtual TNs? Or, is there something I should look for in the report that will be for a IP phone?

From what I can tell, I should have two remaining on IP licenses which I would think would mean I have two remaining virtual TNs to use.

IP USERS 130 LEFT 2 USED 128

Or, is there something in the listing that indicates that it is a virtual TN?

Thanks!

Find another IP phone and identify the TN.

All of the unused TNs in that "Loop" (the first field) are IP.

You are not seeing any available TN's for IP phones because you have "filled UP" all of the assigned virtual cards. You need to start your next new TN on a new "card.
So go to LD 20
REQ: luc (to list unused cards)
TN (press return)

You are looking for the next unused card with the same loop and shelf number as your existing IP phones.
So if your IP phone TN's start with, say, 252 0, then look for a unused card that starts with 252 0. Then put your next IP phone on 252 0 cc 00.

LUVU doesn't show any TN's on cards that don't have anything on them already.

LD 20, REQ = PRT, TYPE = 500 for analog, 2000 for digital and 1140 or 2050pc for IP or ISET for IP
