Start, Run, gpedit.msc Then under Local Computer Policy open Administrative Templates, then highlight System Look on the right and see if Disable Autoplay has been enabled. If so, open it and reconfigure.

i have that problem too, and my guess is that its because win2k uses an autoplay and not an autorun file. its obviously supposed to be backwards compatible but my comp doesnt autorun any of my cd's and i made sure that this feature is enabled about everywhere.
