Here you may (depending on O/S) find an entry called Autorun. Edit the entry by double-clicking on it - the data will say 1 if the feature is turned ON, 0 if the feature is turned OFF. You will need to reboot for the change to take effect. After you have made the change, if you do want a CD to Autoplay, you can double-click on the CD icon in Explorer or My Computer. The Autoplay will then run as if you had just put the CD in.

i had this problem. It was down to file associations. When you install real player and all the other stuff like winamp it messes up the association. Go into file types and make sure the cd file (CDA i think) is associated with say media player and the option is to open
