I have a desktop pc, and a laptop. When I installed win2k on the dsktp I made up a password and assigned it to it. However when I installed win2k on the laptop, I didn't. As a result whenever I start the laptop I don't need to enter a password to proceed, whereas when the dsktp starts up I DO have to provide its password.
My question is, is there anyway I can get the dsktp to do like the laptop? (without re-installing the OS obviously).

Thanks,

JavierDL

Actually you don't really need any speciall tools, under users and passwords in the control panel there should be a box that says "User must enter a user name and password to use this computer." simply uncheck the box.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every moment of it.

javierdl, I noticed that you have been a member for a while but never showed your thanks to anyone. The way you thank someone who has helped you out is to award them with a

.

You may want to consider hitting the "Thank (member).. post" link, which will not only give the member a message of thanks, but will also help other users in finding this post later who may have a similar problem, and let them know that it worked.
You might want to think about back-tracking your posts to do the same for the other members who have helped you out in the past.
