Due to yet another ludicrous government target we will, in the near future, have to create a network share for all 4000 of our users. In the good (?) old days of NT this was simply a case of putting \\servername\users\%username% into the "connect to" section of the account properties, but this doesn't seem to work in Active Directory. Help !

Still there under the profile tab in the AD account. Never had a problem with it.

I don't tend to set it manually though, I do it with a batch file when I create the share. Use a util called prosetup which also allows me to change the drive letter at the same time. No doubt I could do it with an AD util but I've been doing it the same way since the NT days with no issue.

I use \\servername\username$ though, i.e. a direct map to a share rather than to a subfolder of the share.
