Automatic update client not installed.

When the server was installed the script file had automatic update client install set to off. Is there a way to now install it?

needs to be minimum service pack 2
it is included in sp3 + 4

This is for a 2003 server. I don't think it will work for 2003.

if your rightclick My Computer, don't you have a tab caoncering automatic updates???

Nope it was never installed.

and you have no sign of it in services list or control panel?

add/remove windoze components too??

strange indeed....
can you post the part of the script that disabled it?

in the unatend.txt the line reads
autoupdate = off

check the registry settings listed on this page, see what you have on your server...

and the page that gave me this link said it works with XP, so it could work with 2003 too:

it's the same clent for all the OS apparently

XP and 2000 client will not work. It says it is for 2000 or XP when you try to install it.

all settings are in the registry. And set correctly. These may have been added/setup by another Admin here.
