Automatic Remove McAfee 4.03

Anyone have any batch or SMS scripts they've used in the past to remove McAfee 4.03 from an enterprise environment safely? As during the uninstall via our EPO 2.5 Server or initiated manually at the machine, the uninstall removes the shlwapi.dll file(which is key for IE and Outlook to work properly). Just looking for those whove crossed this barrier in the past and can assist. Afterwords we plan on deploying Virus Scan 4.5.1 SP1 to all workstations.

When I unninstall Mcafee 4.02 I looked in the regist editor to find the unninstall sequence... I put it in a batch file and after all I was able to install Mcafee 4.51

Look this winbatch script:

You need to copy on the workstation the WCmdr.ini in your install folder (if is missing) and after you run the wcmdr.exe...

I know that is for Mcafee 4.02 but may be this we help you

The best way to do about this via ePO is to force the uninstall of 4.03 first, then force install 4.51. In this way you don't get this problem.

That presents the whole problem, when forcing the uninstall, the shlwapi.dll file gets wiped out, why.... i don't know. Running on NT 4.0 SP6 by the way. I'll try more tests, but all previous ones have failed using the EPO Server.

From what I remember, this happens if you have IE or Outlook open during the uninstallation. Might want to check this out as well.
