Hi,

I'm running a very simple 2 pc peer 2 peer network. 1 machine is win98 the other win2k.

although it may seem illogical, the win98 machine is running all the time and used to host files and for ics. the win2k machine gets turned off at night (it's in my bedroom)

The problem I'm having is getting the win2k machine to connect to a password protected share on the win98 machine at start up, without intervention.

when I boot the win2k machine it tries to connect map the network drive and after a pause I get "invalid password" the password is set correctly in the "log on as a different user" part of the map network drives window.

I enter the correct password and it connects fine.

it's a pain to have to enter the password every time, is there any way to fix this

TIA Aaron Concannon

Have you tried setting up a user account on the win 98 machine or share ???

The only way I know to bypass being prompted is if both the windows sign on user id/password are the same as the shared drive's user/password.

If anyone else has a fix - I'd appreciate.

Thanks,
tlcg
