Hi,

I'm trying to create an excel file that can take two values in the worksheet (UK postcodes) and automatically return the journey time (the data is all stored in an access database as there are over 6 million potential values). Is this even possible and how would I go about doing this??

Thanks!
Ross

Cheers,

Excel can not handle 6 millions of rows, so I guess you want Excel to return only the rows that match the criteria you specify.

I suppose what you want is something like following:

1. All zip code records are unique
2. You enter a value in the first cell (zip code)
3.In another cell, you automatically get the value (journey time)
4. Whenever you change the zip code in the first cell, you get the updated value of journey time respectively.
5. Just a single row of data (zip code and journey time) is always returned., i. e. just 2 values.

If so, you can make ODBC connection to the Access database, make parameter query against Access database that returns zip code (parameter) and journey time. A cell in an Excel worksheet is a reference for query parameter, and whenever it changes its value (whenever you enter zip code) it refreshes data in the cell showing journey time.

Regards,
