Hi, I require code that will execute an automated import of a paradox table at a certain time of each day, without sacrificing the CPU usage, In other words, is there an efficient way to execute this without constantly checking the system's time?

Much appreciated.

Use task scheduler to launch a db that has an autoexec macro to run your code. Then windows takes care of watching the time. Joe Miller

You could use the Windows task scheduler. Add a task to run Access at a set time. You could either have an autoexec macro or startup form in the database. Or you could include the /x option to start a specified macro.

If you want to do this in Access and will keep the database open at all times, add a form with a timer. Set the timer interval at an acceptable interval (10 minuntes?). Check the time of day in the timer event. When the you reach the corcect time, execute the import code or macro.

Thanks tlbroadbent.... your method did work.

The database is closed and throughout the day and I got the Win2000 task scheduler to open it up in the evening when all are sleeping, with a startup form wih code to do the import.

Much appreciated.
