Automate a text box in excel chart

Is there a way to create a text box on a pie chart to update the value in the text box that refers in another worksheet?

Example: I have a pie chart that gives the percentage. I want to create a text box on the pie chart that has the total number that reports the whole number where the percentages came from. This number changes all the time and I only want to change it in one place. This number also goes to other pie charts. I don't want to us e a data table

i have played around in the charts options, but did not anything that could help, any ideas?

Create a text box, and with the text box selected type = and select the required cell. Let me know what problems you have.

If I put a "=" in a text box then try and go select a cell nothing happens the olny thing that is left is a = in the text box.

Put an EQUAL character in the FORMULA BAR

Select the Cell containing the text

Hit ENTER
