I have a remote user accessing Citrix xp from nfuse. This user has windows 98 and has a network printer(hp4050) installed from an nt40 server at the remote site.

T he citrix server maps the client printer but I get errors in the event log that it could not be mapped (error 1107). I see the printer on the citrix server but it is always mapped with an hp 4500 color printer driver in citrix.

This printer constanly hangs the print spooler on the citrix server.
I have installed the windows 98 drivers on a shared 4050 printer on the citrix server, but no luck.

Any ideas out there,

Thanks

How is the printer setup on the 98 pc? If its a regular unc path to a queue on the nt server, perhaps you should install jetadmin and create a local port on the 98 pc, and print straight to the printer.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.

have u checked the printer driver name is exactly the same for w98 & nt4?

Say, if in w98 the printer driver name is "hp4050 pcl5" & in nt4 the printer driver name is "hp4050 pcl6", then the auto-created printer cannot properly map the correct driver, & it will pick the best driver for you, which is hp 4500 color printer.
