autoforward to external address

Just upgraded to small business server 2003. I have a couple of users with Blackberrys what I am attemptingto do is autoforward incoming email to their external addresses so that they can then recieve email on these devices.

I have created a contact in the users section of the active directory and set the email address to be the external address.

I have then tried to set the particular users Exchange Options to forward to the particular contact. Sadly this hasnt worked and I cant see the contact. This is how I did it in Exchange 2000 I am sure. Any ideas how to do this and why I cant see the address!!

Did you hide the contacts from the GAL? They can't be hidden when you set up the forward. Once the forward is set up you can hide them.

PS: Tell your users to dump the crackberries and get a PPC phone that has native support in Exchange and don't have to deal with this crap.

If you have a number of BB users you should really look at getting their overpriced Blackberry Enterprise Server. (the cost of those PPC Phones will start to look REALLY ATTRACTIVE).

One final note, please be aware we now have an SBS 2003 forum and you should post in that forum for SBS issues as some things are different between the standard products and SBS. forum1584

I believe the option ot hide from the GAL is on the advanced tab.

Why not just use the included redirector software? That's far more flexible than using forwarding. FAR MORE.
