Hello:

I have a report that I need to run on a daily basis. However, this needs to be expoorted into a comma delimited file. Is there any way to add a macro or command line parameter (on a shortcut) so that you just click the report icon, and the file exports, instead of opening to view? I need this to work with just crystal, if possible. I am using Win200, Crystal 8.5. Thanks in advance for any solutions/ideas/suggestions.

You can't do this with just Crystal, but you can write your own application (using Crystal's runtime components) to do this or use one of the 3rd-party report managers listed at:

CUT, Visual CUT, and DataLink Viewer:
view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

Chris,

I appreciate that you said that you want the solution to work "with just Crystal, if possible".

However, in general, this sort of thing is very much easier to do from the database than from a reporting tool. In SQL Server, for example, you can automitically ouput to comma-delimited via DTS. In Visual Foxpro, you can use the COPY TO ... TYPE DELIMITED command. And so on.
