Ive got a large Access front end that i have imported some new forms and queries into. I can open all forms including the switchboard fine from the database window but as soon as i close the mdb and try too open it from a shortcut in a startup situation it fails.

I am getting the window that is headed "Action Failed"

Macro name "autoexec"

and all the autoexec macro has in it is an openform command and the form is switchboard in normal mode.

The only option is Halt which leaves me with a blank access window.

Has anyone had experience of this or have any suggestions.
Many thanks
PEDZ

PEDZ118,
Have you tried setting the form as the Startup form (Tools=>Startup..., Display Form/Page)?

Hope this helps,

Yes, It has been set as startup form all along, thats why it is weird why it just suddenly stopped when i was importing forms with no connection to the switchboard at all.

PEDZ118,
Sounds like using an AutoExec macro was an attempt to fix the fact that the Startup form not working?

I'm at a loss then, I would try to compact and repair the database and see if the corrects the problem. If that doesn't work try creating a new database and import all the objects from the old database and see if that will correct the problem.

Just out of curiosity is it an Aceess 2000 format database that has been updated using a newer version of Access (XP/03)?

I have sorted this problem by moving it from my 2000 server to an xp pc, recompiling it and repair/compact. When uploaded back to the server it works fine.

Bit of a strange one. Just one of them microsoft things.
