AutoCreated Printers Stopped Working

Environment:

Windows 2000 TS
Citrix MetaFrame XPe FR3

The farm is set to:
Use universal driver only if native driver is unavailable.

Drivers on the servers are limited to the following:
HP LaserJet Series II
HP Color LaserJet 4500
HP Color LaserJet PS

Any printer that uses the PCL5c driver is not autocreated when users login.

If I remove PCL5c from the registry driver list at HKLM\Software\Citrix\UniversalPrintDrivers then the users printers will be autocreated with the PCL4 driver.

I have tried reinstalling the PCL5c (HP Color LaserJet 4500) driver on a couple of servers and this has not resolved anything.

It appears that printer autocreation and mapping is broken at the farm level.

Has anyone else ever experienced this problem or have any idea what may be causing it?

Thanks in advance.

With over 300 servers that's not really an option.

Actually we found the problem. Someone had added a printer mapping in the CMC mapping the HP Color LaserJet 4500 to an HP LaserJet printer. So it was doing a reverse mapping from the UPD printer to another driver, which somehow caused the UPD printer creation to break.

Now the trouble is trying to figure out who added the mapping and why!
