I was wondering if there is any way that I set up my computer to start up automatically at a set time every day without having to be close by or do anything?

Thx

autopoweron is a feature that can be set in the bios ,available in most BIOS'es

thx but....I just checked my BIOS and it wold appear that this is not a option for me can i change that i have an msi k7n2 delta HD

Does your bios have a wake on lan or wake on modem function? If so you can send a command or ring your computer which will wake it up.

no i does not look like i can do that either..humm

In BIOS - power options, see if you have a setting for "when power fails". You usually have 1. start, 2. shut down, 3. previous state. Set for start. Plug computer into a regular timer (mechanical or electronic), set for power off 5 min before you want to start (keeps the CMOS battery charged), and turn on at the time you want. Just make sure the timer will handle the power needs of the computer.

A better question would be why are you turning it off? Nothing will shorten the life of a system more than frequent restarts.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
