Auto-save Microsoft Office Document before shutdown

I made a program in c++ that shutdown my computer; but before, I want that the program auto-save my office document (word excel ...).
I already see this in others programs (like WatchDog, downloadable freely on

http://www.picace.com).

Can someone tell me how do this?
A example will be usefully!!!
