Auto populating Paramater fields

I have a paramater field that i use to select records for just 1 "user name"

As of now I have to manualy update this field anytime the "user name" table is changed.

Is there a way to have a parameter field auto populate from a field in the DB or a formula field?

Im running crystal 8.5 now but would be interested in answers for any version of crystal.

One of the most annoying things that Crystal continues to disregard. BO suffers the same thing.

In order to do this you need to manually edit the parms or write code to refresh them and then update the report (automated means of manually updating the report, which requires lots of coding), or use an external parameter collection method.
