Auto dial 9 using Hot D

I am trying to bypass the need to dial 9 when dialing an external call from certain analog sets but am running into a problem. TRAK indicates 9 has been dialed when going off-hook, but any digits dialed by the user are ignored. Tried HOT D 1 9 on a 3904 and it works just fine. Need to use the AC1 rather than ACOD because of multiple routes in my RLB.

See anything wrong with the configuration of my 500?

hot d 1 9 never used but you appear to be missing the 1 like in the 3904 example you posted

I know, it just prints out that way. The actual CHG command was ITEM: ftr hot d 1 9
The 1 indicates how many digits are to be dialed by the hotline dialing.

why not create an xlst that inserts the 9

it's a strange problem, i had to use dip for that to work. try hot d 4 plus the acod, might work.. for some reason only dial pulse worked on rls 3, because it was for the elevator phones they "said" they couldn't add the 9. they dial in, enter a password and a call back number.. it's a security issue. i offered to hot d the number but they needed to change it for a monthly test... at another site i added the acod and that one works, no nine and it's touch tone. that set is a courtsy phone with a timed force disconnect at 3 minutes. for that one, it would not dial my two way did, pri's.. so i ran a analog ext into a analog trunk card, used that acod plus the 9.. pick the phone up and your on an outside line... sometimes a work around is the only way

You're right, John! Dial pulse works, touch tone doesn't. Phonedude, I'm not familiar with xlst. Does that involve using HOT L rather than HOT D? I'm willing to try it if it's all the same to the user: picks up the handset and dials only 11 digits as if he were on an outside line.

build an xlst that has
0-9 thru
9-99
this is built as scl xx and assigned to xlst of the phone.

That works great and is definitely the way to go rather than using HOT! Thanks so much. You guys are the best!!

To anyone else reading about this solution: you have to build the SCL in LD 18 and also associate it with an XLST by defining a "pretranslation group to speed call list" in LD 18
TYPE pre
XLAT 9 PRE 9 <-- if using SCL 9 to do the translation
XLAT 0 PRE 2 <-- must define the default pretranslation group in order to turn on the pretranslation feature (in LD 15, PREO=1). I used SCL 2 (an empty SCL) in this example because SCL 0 is already built and in use for regular speed call dialing.

i've used pretranslation and it is a clean way to do that or totally ristrict an phone from making internal calls.. another way to stop a inbound only set is the dip class.. several of our sets are for dr to call a waiting area, we use dip so guest will not use those phones to call out on. there are guest phones in the area, but the white sets are non-dial (like the sign says)
