Hi,
Has anyone discovered a way of getting Outlook XP/2003 to autoconfigure itself when a new user is logging on for the first time?

In other words, the user account is configured by an IT staff member, the user logs in with the newly created user account for the first time, and it's at this point I have to visit the users desktop & manually configure Outlook to work with an Exchange server. I just wish this could be automated.....

I'm happy to script it with VBScript if need be. I've automated everything else, it's just Outlook with Exchange that I'm stuck on....

Many Thanks

Phil Blythe

Yes, use the Custom Installation Wizard that is part of the ORK (Office Resource Kit).

I have an FAQ that discusses using it: faq96-4996.

I hope you find this post helpful.

And, if you're planning on upgrading to Exchange 2007, you'll be happy to know that E2007 and O2007 support this natively.
