I am having a total brain lock and I need some help. I created a database that is used by several people at once on an almost continual basis, and when I need to to an update to it for a change I made I just net send everyone to get out, howver sometimes people walk away and lock their computers and I can't get to it. normally I just copy the file over anyway but I have a seperate database with the tables in it that needs compacting once in a while and I can't do that while anyone is in it. how can I shut the database down after being idle? or can you just boot someone out? thanks.

Thanks that helps. I may just set up a time when I do regular maintenance, thanks!
