Avaya 9.1 with Embedded Voicemail programmed with Auto Attendant
-In AA, caller can select Option #2, and be directed to a Hunt Group Voicemail to leave after-hours messages.
-The Hunt Group is sourced on a receptionist's Avaya 1416 telephone, so that she can access vm's using Visual Vmail.
-An external device provides Music On Hold
The problem: when the caller selects Option #2, she hears a few seconds of the Music On Hold before being directed to the hunt group greeting.
The issue: our client feels the MoH delay is preventing callers from leaving after-hours messages.
Attempts: I had originally set the Hunt Group Fallback Mode to Out Of Service without programming an OoS Destination. The caller would only hear 1 second of MoH. I tried using Night Service mode without programming a Night Service Destination with the same results. Finally, I set the hunt group to In Service Mode, and reduced Voicemail Answer Time to 1 second. This action resulted in the caller hearing 3 or 4 seconds of MoH before the hunt group greeting answered. I returned to my original programming... only the few seconds of MoH delay remained, and did not return to the original 1 second delay.
I need to program the Auto Attendant to immediately transfer into the after-hours voicemail without any delay.
