I have a win2k server as a DC with a share on a drive (d$), perms set to everyone. Only the admin account is active, guest is disabled.

I log in locally onto my win2k pro workstation (not into the domain) then from explorer I connect to the share drive on the server and it allows me!!!!! I've not authenticated on the domain. Why?

Thx

what ID, password, workgroup are you using on the W2K pro?

Ah, got it. I've used the same name and p/word as local admin for the workstation and on the domain. When I connect I'm not logged in so the server requests a login name/pass. 'cos there the same it lets me in.
