Hi all,
Hope you can help me,
I have a G3r with Audix voicemail system attached but it has never been used at the site and although set up, has been lying redundant.
Ive been told to look at getting it back up and running but have no idea of how it actually works?
Im reasonably confident with the definity admin but this is all new to me so can someone give me a rough idea of how this system works with regards to hunt groups phone buttons etc.?

Many thanks in advance
Hope this helps
John

Hi Scottyjohn,

It's pretty straightforward - you have a bunch of analouge lines patched straight into the Intuity. These are administered as analogue extensions in the definity and a hunt-group created for accessing these extensions which is what happens when you dial the audix number. Most places have the hunt-group number setup as an ab-dial and this is the button you use for accessing audix.

This, in a nutshell, is the basics.

Any further questions then please just ask.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Thanks for the quick response Chris.
After trawling through the data on the switch I can see the following.....

There are 4 audix extensions I take it these are the analogue lines, they are listed in a hunt group (100)
We also have a coverage path (20) set up which will have audix as the first point of coverage

When I dial the extension of the hunt group i get the woman asking me to enter the "extension and pound sign" I take it this would be the extension that would be set as an abbreviated dial on the phones?

So how does the audix system know which message is for who? and what number would go into the first point of the coverage path to allow callers to leave messages?

Cheers Hope this helps
John

The Audix system is a system in which you must administer subscribers (users) somewhat like stations in the Definity system. In order to program stuff, you actually need to connect to Audix like you are used to do with your Definity by an analogue line. (Using Terranova, Procomm or DSA / ASA) You'll need a login and password and I would recommend some training on the system, because it works quite different from the Definity.
If you have any questions, just ask!

Hi,

Audix uses the ani/cli to determine what extension is calling (for example pressing hash at that prompt will enter the ext. from which you called the audix hunt number).

I slightly confused you with the ab-dial for audix, you could just as easily leave that off and have people dial the extension assigned to the audix hunt group for accessing their vm.

To set people's telephone to go to vm the last point in the coverage path just needs to be set to h100.

Hope this helps,

Chris

John,

think you want to know how to program the Vector...

If you want to route calls to a mailbox for the called VDN, be sure to insert this step in the Vector:
messaging for extension active
Where "active" is the VDN's extension or, if the VDN was called from a coverage path, the extension of the originally called extension will be the active extension. In stead of active you can also insert a fixed extension number with a mailbox. But remember: the command messaging for wil only work with Intuity Audix. If you have a Definity Audix, just insert this step:
route to number xxxx
Where xxxx is the Audix-Huntgroup's extension.

Time of day steps usually look like this:

goto step 20 if time-of-day is all 09:00 to all 17:00
goto step 22 if time-of-day is fri 17:00 to mon 09:00
and so on...

Good luck
Kind Regards,
Maarten Copini
