audix alert with cordless phone

Is there a way to have a cordless analog phone flash so that some one knows they have messages in audix. Currently the person has to remember to check for messages.
Could I put a splitter at the wall jack and make one side go to the cordless phone and the other go to another analog phone that has a message waiting light?

You should get a broken dialtone if you have mail waiting. Might depend on your CM version though. On mine, "cha sta x" tab 2 shows "Audible Message Waiting"...

It is making a stutter tone currently and they are wanting a visible signal that there is a message. Can you put a splitter on the wall jack and run a phone with a message waiting light and the cordless phone off the same jack?

All you would have to do is get a phone with a message light indicator. Setup a dummy ext and instead of the dummy ext number in the "Message Lamp Ext" field, you put the cordless phone ext number. You can even put a couple abrdg-appr on it for the guy...

In the future everything will work...

Use outcalling from audix to a pager or something. Or have it call the phone.

Otherwise I believe Avaya still ships cordless phones with message waiting lamps.

Sheepdog, The answer to your question is yes.
Sure there are other ways of doing things, but I
don't understand why a simple question gets so twisted.
You can connect a second set with a message lamp on the same circuit and it should light. Make sure that the lamp is set in the station form.
There are also (or were)seperate message lamps you could get. I have had several cordless phones that I used them with.
