I'm looking to audit insert/delete activity (at the row level) in certain tables within my database. And preferably, to have notification ability when rows are deleted from certain tables. I'm told that SQL Server 7.0 will not do this.....true???
If so, any reccomended 3rd party tools?

Thank You

False!

You could put an insert/delete trigger on your table(s) that writes to another table with audit info and/or to send you a mail when rows are deleted.

The only thing tricky to audit in SQL are select statements...
