The main fire station in my city wants to hold audio conferencing with the seven other stations daily. I have an Opt 11, can the switch hold more calls than the three or six already allowed with optional equipment? If not, than would buying your own equipment be feasible? Or would paying someone like MCI on a monthly basis be the way to go?

i have had 9 audio calls at once,, test it and see, there is a point when transmision will decay

LOOK INTO A MICB THEY WORK PRETTY SLICK, AND AFTER YOU PAY MCI OR ATT OR ANYONE ELSE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME IT WOULD HAVE BEEN PAYED FOR

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

zog99 - You used AO6 and had up 9 calls, were they all within the switch? Mine would have the main fire station (within the switch) call the other stations around the city. You think I could get 9 calls going through the local phone company switch?

PERRYPJ - What is MICB and where can I find information on it? Is it something within the switch?

If you talk to your Nortel Vendor, they will give you a price on it. It is an internal conference bridge. It's a bit pricey, but may pay off depending on how long these conference calls are.

PERRYPJ and ArchTelecom - I found it and talked to Nortel, they have referred me to my vendor for pricing and whatnot, they just called back and are emailing some product information to me. Thanks for all the help.

I have had as many as 25 people conferenced together, I used 1 phone to do about 8 conference call's and then I would call 1 more in my office and use that 1 to make 8 more call and the last again would be in my office and again I would call 8 more and so on and so on. Each time you use a different phone to continue the calling you use a different conference Group and channels. Just give it a try seeing as you only have 8 it shouldn't be a problem.

depending on the system types at the remote locations, set up the internal and then have each station conf the next. you do as ace suggested, with just two digital sets you can go to 12 on a conf..if you have that many conf PORTS.. an 11 usually has 8
