Attachments change to WINMAIL.DAT

Hi,

I have a user sending e-mails from Outlook 2000 via an exchange server & unix Mail Gateway. Whenever he sends mails to our parent company, which uses Lotus Notes and .TXT attachments get changed into WINMAIL.DAT.

At first I thought it was the uaual Rich Text issue but have checked and the mail is sent by plain text.

Any ideas?

I've heard that RTF issue also occurs if there are multiple recipients, and at least one of them has their default "send as" set to RTF.
