Now and again, over the weekend some users mailbox attachments change to hyperlinks and subsequently can not open them.

There is a way around this by changing Outlook to use MS Word to open emails, then go to forward the email and open the attachement from there.

Also over the weekend, around 150x5mb log files appear in the mdbdata folder? I am not sure if this is related or not?

Does anyone know why this happens as it is very annoying for users and myself. Is exchange set by default to do something over the weekend?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Log files are created for tranactions. 750mb is a good amount. Do you get a bunch of mail traffic? Dan

What do you mean by Tranactions?

Before i noticed the log files building up, 750MB was building up every weekend and eventually filled up all space on the server so i could not open the information store. Should these files be deleted every weekend? Is there a way of stopping them as i just delete them anyway?

We get a few messages build up over the weekend but only about 20 or so. We use a POP downloader for are mail.

Do you know about the attachments changing to hyperlinks as this is the major problem that needs to be solved??

Thanks for your help

You do a full online backup and it clears them.

It almost sounds like your scanning the database or M drive with a file level antivirus scanner. If so stop. Dan
