Help

I'm recieving mail from Outlook Express with an attachment flag and "Sam Alert:" Starting off in the subject area and any attachments are disabled the they show the name and size but not there?

Thanks

On OE tool bar go to TOOLS/OPTIONS/SECURITY tab...uncheck the box.."do not allow attachments that potentially may contain a virus"

Thanks

Now why would I set it to delete all incomming attachments. ???

It was set default in my OE? on my new notebook I don't remember setting it? Must of been 7am Monday morning when they come up with that one.

It just deleted an attachment that I paid $150 dollars for and that user isn't going to want to send another..

Damn.......

Well thanks I unchecked that and shouldn't have any more problems with it

Myrna:

You didn't set it.. That is the way it comes to you already set-up.. If you want the attachments, then you have to change the setting manually which is what you did !!

It shouldn't have deleted them if you're using OE 6.0 and have the "do not allow attachments that potentially may contain a virus" box checked. It just hide them so that you have to think about whether it's a legitimate attahcment. I keep the box checked all the time so that I can't accidentally open something I shouldn't when I'm trying to deal with five things at once. When I get an attachment I want, I just uncheck the box, open the email, deal with the attachment, close the email, and recheck the box.

Cheers.

Wow!!! it didn't really delet it!!.. All I have to do is turn it off, copy my attachment and then reset it?

Thanks

Myrna

Maybe its still there

Yes, that's correct. It should just be hidden from view.
