I use to take the .mdf and .ldf file and use the attach... etc command from sql, but now somebody sent a 'script' file to attach the database to a SQL server. Anybody knows how to use this files. They are two, and the person just said 'it's a script'

thanks in advance.

Hi there,
i don't know what is there in the script files.
Only thing can we do, is to say, just open the script files in the query analyzer and go through it, what is written there.
If you feel comfortable with those, execute them.

Though if you are already using the attachdb function, why do you require anything from these script files.

exec sp_attach_db 'database name', 'path to mdf file'
by the way, you don't need the ldf file for attaching. John Fill
